California Rail Builders is seeking a qualified Deputy Survey Manager to join our team as we construct the CP4 project located within the counties of Tulare and Kern, and the cities of Shafter and Wasco. It is bounded by a point approximately one mile north of the Tulare-Kern County Line to the north and Poplar Avenue to the south. The project alignment will extend approximately 22 miles in length. Major work elements include construction of at-grade, retained fill, and aerial track sections.

• Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the activities of field and office staff with the Survey manager and the Supervisor
• Supervising the preparation and completion of all survey deliverables
• Work closely with survey manager and engineering staff to ensure coordination
• Provide leadership, direction and motivation to staff
• Survey calculation
• Actively participate in professional development and identify staff training needs
• Project management
• Leading the survey team
• Scheduling survey crews with the supervisor surveyor
• Preparation of survey documents
• Interfacing with design staff

Job Requirements
• Four year degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering
• Minimum 5 years field experience in survey & construction surveying applications as a responsible party
• Proficient in MicroStation V8i software higher and InRoads, OpenRoads or Geopack
• Trimble Business Center software Knowledge
• Proficient operating Trimble GPS/VRS and Total Stations
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• California Professional Land Surveyor preferred
