Description: Applications are invited for a tenure-track position, as Assistant Professor of Digital Communication/Media Arts, for the Department of Communications at California State University, Bakersfield. The position begins in August, 2018.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will possess an MFA in a Digital Communication/Media Arts-related field. Experience with curriculum revision is desirable.

Teaching: The successful candidate is expected to teach courses in some or all of the following: 1). video production and post-production, for both narrative and documentary forms; 2). sound design, 3). visual design, 4). virtual reality/augmented reality/360 video content creation, 5). writing for digital media, 6). video game production, 7). transmedia storytelling, and/or interactive media design, 8) film history/theory courses, as needed, 9). senior seminar/capstone course, as needed

The successful candidate will also have an identified program of scholarly and/or creative research in a related field. Teaching experience is considered in the selection process. The tenure-track position requires excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service to the department. The successful candidate will maintain a 4:4 teaching load each semester.
